🛠️ Troubleshooting

Having trouble setting up or partnering with PartnerPal? Here are solutions to the most common issues and questions.

1. ❌ "Your server does not have an invite / advertisement / channel setup"​

Cause: You haven't finished the initial configuration in /settings.

Solution:

  1. Run /settings.
  2. Ensure all four buttons have been configured:
    • Set Requests Channel
    • Set Partner Channel
    • Set Advertisement
    • Set Invite Channel
  3. Verify that your /settings overview displays green checkmarks for each item.

2. 🚫 "Insufficient permissions detected" when selecting channels​

Cause: PartnerPal or the @everyone role is missing required Discord channel permissions.

Required Permissions for PartnerPal:

  • View Channel
  • Send Messages
  • Embed Links
  • Attach Files
  • Read Message History
  • Use External Emojis
  • Create Instant Invite (on the invite landing channel)
  • Manage Webhooks (if using webhook message templates)

Partner Channel Permissions for @everyone:

  • @everyone must have View Channel and Read Message History on your partner channel. PartnerPal requires this to ensure that all server ads are legitimately displayed and visible to your community.

3. ⏳ "This command is still on cooldown"​

Cause: Partner commands have cooldowns between requests to prevent network spam and rate limits.

Cooldown Durations:

  • /partner: 5 minutes
  • /direct-partner: 30 minutes
  • /partner-mass: 45 minutes

Tip: The message will display a dynamic Discord timestamp indicating the exact time remaining before the cooldown expires.

4. 📭 No partner requests arriving or partner search returns no servers​

Possible Causes & Solutions:

  • Auto Accept Enabled: If the recipient server (or your server) has Auto Accept enabled in /settings, partner requests are accepted instantly in the background without manual button confirmation. Check your designated partner channel to see if ads have been posted.
  • Recently Partnered Cooldown: PartnerPal excludes servers you have partnered with recently to maximize community variety. If there are no newly eligible servers matching at that exact moment, try again in a short while.
  • Invalid Requests Channel on Recipient Server: If a partner server deleted or hid their requests channel, the bot will notify you and refund your cooldown within 90 seconds.

5. 🤖 Auto Partner Massing is not running​

For Premium servers using Auto Mass:

  1. Check that your server has an active Premium subscription in /settings.
  2. Confirm that Auto Mass is toggled to On in /settings.
  3. Verify all required settings (Invite, Advertisement, Partner Channel, Requests Channel) are valid.
  4. Auto Mass runs automatically every 45 minutes in the background.
